A Hotel provided fee-paid internet service to customers in the room. The charge was made by packet unit.
Generally, as hotel has to construct open network to provide internet service to unspecified customers the system is vulnerable for virus attacking or hacking via customer PC.
A Hotel had frequent experiences of unstable network due to virus infected customer PC. And charge for harmful traffic was given as the fee was packet based. To solve this problem, they introduced SG2024 for stable service and for blocking harmful traffic without revising current network.

• Construction of reliable charging system by blocking harmful traffic It was charging error that made the hotel to be aware of harmful traffic. The traffic itself was regarded as cost according to packet based charging system, and there were several cases to cause continual harmful traffic that was charged as fee. It caused much trouble to the hotel damaging hotel image. Moreover, such harmful traffic used to influence on the internal work system.
To solve such problem, the hotel considered to separate internal network and room network. But it required huge investment feel and they reached it could not be a fundamental measurement on overcharge. Thus, they were suggested by the introduction of SG2024 solution. The spokesperson of the hotel said that they were positive as it suggested solution by simply replacing L2 switch rather than introducing additional security equipment.
What made them to decide to introduce SG2024 was that it could prevent hacking/attacking like ARP Spoofing which was common problem of open network system.

And the Seoul head-office introduced Visual Node Manager that enables to carry out centralized real-time monitoring on the hacking, equipment condition and network resources status including traffic.
• Reliable charging system and internal security upgrade with realistic cost The case is a good example to construct cost effective system to cover up open network problem like A Hotel. SP business always has to provide best service to customers and to calculate accurate charge to secure reliability.
